Why us

We actually finish games

No quick impressions dressed up as reviews. We play until we know how a game behaves in the long run.

Nobody pays us

Studios don't fund our coverage, so a good score has to be earned the hard way.

Every genre counts

From slow strategy to twitchy arcade, we judge each game against others in its own lane.

Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga

★★★★★ 4.6

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG that respects your time without cutting corners on story. You build a party of four, each with their own skill trees, and the turn-based battles reward you for actually reading enemy patterns instead of spamming your strongest attack. We sank a good fifteen hours in before writing this, and the pacing held up.

  • Choices that actually matter
  • Tactical turn-based combat
  • Meaty skill trees

Questions & answers

How do you choose which games to review?

We mostly pick from the charts and from suggestions readers send us. If something looks interesting or a lot of people are asking about it, someone on the team downloads it and plays it properly before we decide whether to write it up.

Do studios pay you for reviews?

No. We don't take money to publish or influence a review, and we don't run paid coverage dressed up as editorial. That's the whole reason the site exists — so a good score actually means something.

Can I suggest a game for you to cover?

Please do. Email us the name of the game and a line about why you like it. We read every suggestion, though we can't promise to cover everything — for example, Casinacho Play made it onto the site because a reader tip pushed it up our list.

Is there advertising on the site?

We may run basic ads to keep the lights on, but they're kept separate from our editorial content. An advertiser can't buy a better review or get their game featured, and we'll always tell you if something is sponsored.
